Premier League statement: Brittain and Ryder reappointed to Premier League Board

Premier League Shareholders vote unanimously to reappoint Chair and independent non-executive director, both for a further three-year term Premier League Shareholders have today unanimously voted to reappoint Alison Brittain as Chair of the Premier League Board and Matthew Ryder as an independent non-executive director, both for a further three-year term. In October, the League’s Nominations Committee recommended to the Board their reappointment based on the strength of their individual skills and expertise, along with their performance and ability to continue to contribute at an important time for the Premier League. The Board unanimously agreed to the proposal at a meeting this month before asking clubs to formally vote today. Alison said: “I am delighted to be reappointed as Chair of the Premier League and I look forward to continuing to work closely with my fellow Board members, our Clubs, the League’s Executive team and all our partners and key stakeholders. Our focus will be on delivering our strategic objectives and ensuring the ongoing growth and global success of the League. It’s a privilege to support the Premier League in being a force for good and having positive impact on people’s lives and in local communities. “I am enormously pleased that Matthew will also serve a second term on the Premier League Board - his extensive experience and the commitment he brings to the role are very highly valued.” Alison became Chair of the Premier League Board in January 2023, with Matthew joining a month later. The two will continue to work alongside the other independent non-executive Board members Mai Fyfield and Dharmash Mistry and Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters. Their reappointments have also been endorsed by The Football Association.
