Supporters can now vote for their Aston Villa Women Player of the Month for March 2026! Natalia Arroyo's side returned to Women's Super League with three strong performances full of character and grit. The Villans got the month underway by welcoming league leaders Manchester City to Villa Park on Sunday, March 15. City, who had won 14 of their 16 league fixtures heading into the clash, came to B6 full strength looking to continue their strong run off form. But a stellar team performance from Villa held them to a 0-0 draw as a huge point was earnt on home soil. Ellie Roebuck pulled off a string of good saves as her and her backline kept their sixth league clean sheet of the season, equalling their record tally in the WSL. Villa hit the road the following weekend as they made the short trip across the Midlands to take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. The side, who were full of confidence following their last performance, found themselves trailling at the break through a first-half opener from Alisha Lehmann. But the Villans came out with vengeance after the restart and quickly pulled themselves level through Anna Patten in the 47th minute. Ebony Salmon, who had come on at the start of the second-half, dictated the play and helped surge Villa to victory as she fizzed a brilliant ball through the Leicester half and into Kirsty Hanson's feet who charged into the area before slotting a shot through the keeper's legs in the 84th minute. The Villans' final fixture of the month came away to Chelsea last weekend as they fell to a narrow 4-3 defeat. Chasity Grant gave Villa an early lead after only 100 seconds on the clock as she netted her first of the campaign but a flurry of goals from the hosts saw Chelsea go 3-1 ahead in the 27th minute. However, Villa put up a strong fight and reduced the deficit just after the half an hour mark as Hanson netted her first of the afternoon. Lynn Wilms got her third assist of the day in the 35th minute as she set up Hanson to make it 3-3 and to see the game all tied up at the break. Hanson's brace took her to 12 league goals of the campaign, sitting second in the goal scoring charts, as she continues her astonishing form in front of goal.
